Our Story...

The Western Australian Deputising Medical Service (WADMS) exists solely to provide patients with both in-hours and after-hours medical care on behalf of their own GP.

‘Doctors Working For Doctors’ has been WADMS’ motto for 36 years and it is one that we firmly stand by. Our board of members is made up entirely of well-respected doctors who donate their time and experience to maintain an ethical and professional locum service, for the benefit of Perth’s population. 

As a non-profit co-operative, we are one of the oldest locum services located in Perth. As well as this, WADMS is the only 24 hour, 365 days of the year locum service.

Our staff take pride in providing the best possible service to all of our members. Not only do we consistently provide the highest level of care to all of our patients, but we have recently expanded our visiting boundary and increased our number of locum doctors to meet the needs of a growing Perth community.

WADMS is also recognised and has been duly accredited to full Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited (AGPAL) standards.

If you find yourself with an unexpected illness and are unable to visit your regular GP during surgery hours, contact your surgery and they will be able to arrange a home visit if necessary. When your surgery is closed, however, simply call us directly on 9321 9133. Our call centre staff are waiting to take your call and assist with providing the convenience of being seen by a doctor - in the comfort of your own home or aged care facility.
