Graduating in 1975 from University of Adelaide, he did his intern year at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in 1976. In 1977 he spent 6 months doing obstetrics at the Queen Victoria Hospital in Adelaide where obtained his Dip.(Obst.) R.C.O. G and he spent 6 months at the Adelaide Children’s Hospital practising paediatric medicine. In 1977 he spent 4 months doing psychiatry. He then studied and worked in the United Kingdom for 3 years in a variety of medical fields including working as the Medical Registrar at the Royal London Homoeopathic Hospital. In 1979 he obtained a degree in homoeopathic medicine M.F.(Hom) in London and in 1981 he returned to Australia starting up his own general practice in Melbourne. He has been working in general practice ever since. He is vocationally registered. He was member of the Board of Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine and lectured for this college. He was also the Vice-president of the Australasian College of Herbal Medicine and senior lecturer. Both of these colleges’ prime purposes are to educate doctors in the scientific and ethical use of nutritional and herbal therapies in practice. Dr Bagot also has lectured in nutritional medicine for the Graduate School of Integrative Medicine at Swinburne University of Technology.
